Statement of health and Safety Policy

This statement of health and safety policy is the prime concern of the Board of Directors and Managers who are accountable to the Board for its implementation. It sets out clearly the extent of individual responsibility at each level of employee in the prevention of injury/damage and the improvement of the company's performance in accident prevention. Supporting documentation outlines the arrangements for health within the company.

In accordance with the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act, 1974; our statement of general policy is:

• To provide adequate control of the health and safety risks arising from our work activities;
• To consult with our employees and operatives on matters affecting their health and safety;
• To provide and maintain safe plant and equipment;
• To ensure safe handling and use of substances;
• To provide information, instruction and supervision for employees;
• To ensure all employees and operatives are competent to do their tasks, and to give them adequate training;
• To prevent accidents and cases of work-related ill health;
• To maintain safe and healthy working conditions; and
• To review and revise this policy as necessary at regular intervals

More specifically, it is the policy of this Company to:

1. Ensure that all its operations are carried out in a manner so as to ensure, so far as it is reasonably practicable, the health and safety of all its employees, and all other persons who may be affected, including sub-contractors and the public where relevant.
2. Ensure that the Directors will check its performance and advise and instruct on safe working practices.
3. Liaise with employees representatives where relevant i.e. Safety Representatives.
4. Provide protective clothing, and to ensure that all plant and equipment comply with the appropriate legal requirements before being used.
5. Liaise with the appropriate authorities on matters concerning Health and Safety at Work.
6. Employees are reminded that they have a duty under Section 7 of the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 to take reasonable care for their own Safety and the safety of others who may be affected by their acts or omissions, and also to co-operate with the Company in its arrangements to perform or comply with statutory safety obligations, which includes adherence to the Company Safety Policy.
